Shopping The Perimeter Is a good way to start saving you money when you go grocery shopping. Honestly, at least two-thirds of your food purchases should be from the Perimeter area. Staying within the Perimeter means you won’t stray away from the healthy fruits, vegetables, and proteins. Which means If you don’t go down the naughty aisles you will be saving money and losing weight and getting healthy all at the same time.

First: Always make a list. The list should only consist of healthy, fruits, vegetables, and protein. By sticking to your list you won’t stray away from the healthy perimeter area. Start at one end and go all around the perimeter, This Is all around the outside of the store. I bet you didn’t know that? It’s okay I learned that when I started my own health journey. The perimeter Is all around the outside of the store, close to the outer walls. This Is where you will be saving the most money. You only walk the outside of around the aisles and you won’t go down the naughty food aisles.
I know what you are thinking. I keep talking about how you can save money by perimeter shopping and I have yet to talk about It. Well, ow I am. You will always find the basic staples such as bread, milk, eggs, butter, and meats. In that perimeter, you will find fresh produce that Is bundles or loose. The Idea Is that your “Diet” will now consist of fresh whole foods that not only will help you get healthy you will be saving money because you won’t be buying processed junk.
The perimeter Is also part of the end cap displays. These displays will show off Items that are on sale. Believe It or not… not all of the end cap displays are bad for you. If you find an end cap display that has healthy food and It’s on sale that Is a win-win. So you will also save money by shopping the end caps (If possible.) Also, don’t forget to look for a clearance The clearance sections are usually Items that are about to expire or Items that might’ve been damaged and or returned or a seasonal Item that Is no longer available.
Don’t worry If you feel overwhelmed. It will happen and you know what else will happen? Slip-ups. Slip-ups will happen because you are going to end up In those naughty aisles for whatever reasons and you might start to crave those naughty junk Items. I’m here to tell you once you’ve been shopping the perimeter for awhile you won’t even realize that you aren’t buying any junk at all.
