What is C-Med 100?

Pruvit ketones have been advancing for some time and the additional of AC-11 in the new Keto Max and Keto Kreme formulas was one such advancement.

What is R-Beta Hydroxybutyrate

Lazy Keto vs. Strict Keto

Hello, how are you? Welcome if you’re new and welcome back if you’ve been with me for a while. If you’ve been here for a while you might remember a series called the best/worst of something and in that series, I ranked the best and the worst products. I’ve been thinking for a while what series I would like to introduce next and I decided to come up with (not the final name) a lazy series. In this series, I will be bringing you content about different things for people that are pressed for time. Yesterday I posted the first post you can Click Here to read about how to lose weight in a lazy way.

Today I bring you not just a “lazy” post but it is another keto post. This one is a definition between what is lazy keto vs. strict keto? If you want to learn more than please keep on reading.


The definition of Lazy keto varies significantly from person to person and can be confusing for those who are new to the ketogenic lifestyle. With the recent popularity of the ketogenic “diet” along with a ton of misinformation available from social media and websites cashing in on the trend alike, many think lazy keto is what eating ketogenic is all about (trust me it’s not).

The Lazy keto approach is typically not tightly tracking calories or sticking to protein and fat macros but instead keeping your carb intake under 20 grams or less per day.


Why Are The Keto Police Condemning Lazy Keto?

For many, going lazy keto might even include eating whatever they want as long as it fits within their carb count including sugars, bad fats, grain-based fillers and chemical additives in packaged foods.

Now I’m certainly not the Keto police (I actually don’t even agree with the ketogenic “diet”), but I’m sure you would agree that eating bad food doesn’t match up to the ketogenic way of eating for losing weight or dealing with a disease. Continue reading so I can explain why lazy keto or IIFYM (if it fits your macros) may not be the best approach to drop the extra pounds that you’re hanging onto.

Most people new to keto are doing some form of lazy keto or even low-carb disguised as keto, and I understand. Keto is a vast topic and can get pretty scientific when you start to educate yourself. It can be intimidating!

If lazy keto is what you need to change your life and it will allow you to take control of your health then sit back in the recliner and get comfortable. It is a significant lifestyle change, and you may need to ease into a more comprehensive keto diet to see the long-term health benefits or fit into that new dress by your birthday.


Lazy Keto Works But For How Long

It makes sense when you go from eating sugar filled, starchy carbs and fast food to cutting them out of your “diet”, focusing on your health and eating a whole food diet with fewer carbs you are going to see a change in your body for the better.

If you drink soda and eat french fries all day and suddenly stop you are going to drop some weight and probably feel much better no doubt.

I’ve seen lots of people drop massive amounts of weight doing lazy keto and I have seen hundreds quit because their body is different and they don’t see the immediate results they had hoped for from a more laid-back approach.

There are some things to consider if you are thinking about the lazy keto approach or if you’ve been doing lazy keto and have hit a weight loss plateau.


Tracking Keto Macros Sucks

I agree! Tracking everything you eat all day long can be annoying and time-consuming for most of us. After being on keto for some time, I don’t obsess or log everything I eat on a daily basis either.

I suggest those new to keto start by tracking and getting to know not only the carb counts but also the fat, protein and calories you’re consuming each day and how your body reacts to the changes. I think you will be surprised how quickly the totals of the food you eat each day adds up. Once you have a handle on it, then you can relax and not track as often or at all.


The Lazy Keto Approach Often Ignores Other Essential Macros

If you are not balancing your calories, fat and protein consumption along with your carb intake, you are probably missing out on many of the extended health benefits from keto and your ultimate success as time goes on.

Fat Is Crucial To Your Success

Healthy fat is the most significant energy source on the ketogenic diet. When you get the daily fat consumption macro right for your body and goals, it not only helps tremendously to satiate your hunger but it will help curb cravings for traditional carbs. Taming the desires to snack on high carb food will help you stay on track for longer and meet your goals.

I hear all the time from people doing lazy keto “I’m starving in between meals.” as compared to someone who has their fat macro dialed and has become fat adapted saying “I’m not even hungry.”


Protein Is Key To Ketosis and Your Physique

Getting the proper protein is critical for optimal health and also continuing to burn ketones for energy. When ketones aren’t present, the body can break down amino acids from the protein in your muscles via Gluconeogenesis (GNG) by turning protein into glycogen that can be used as glucose for fuel. The downside to Gluconeogenesis (GNG) is that it keeps your body from moving into ketosis.

Even worse if you don’t eat enough protein your body starts breaking down your lean muscle mass for fuel and it can result in damage to your body, your health, and overall performance.

So making sure you are getting the right amount of healthy fat and not over or under consuming protein is vital to your success. Remember Lazy Keto ignores these essential macros almost entirely.


IIFYM Is A Disaster Waiting To Happen

For some “If It Fits Your Macros” (IIFYM) is a form of lazy keto where you eat whatever you want regardless of whats in it as long as you’re under 20-25 grams of carbs each day.

RANT WARNING!!!! IIFYM is a pet peeve of mine so forgive the rant that’s about to ensue. 

The web and social media groups are filled with people sharing low-carb desserts, sugar-free candy and prepackaged foods filled with crap calling it keto. In my opinion, encouraging one another to indulge in low-carb replacements for the foods like brownies and ice cream that frankly got people unhealthy and overweight in the first place is a misstep.

Do you think that’s a recipe for long-term success? Of course not. Keto is all about healthy whole food, removing processed foods, sugar and consuming food that is good for us.

If you fill your daily carb intake with desert replacements and packaged foods, you may be hitting your carb goals, but you’re setting yourself up for a fall later by not changing your unhealthy relationship with food from your high carb living past.

Of course, everything in moderation. An occasional keto dessert or a pint of Halo-Top is fine, but don’t overdo it. Remember this is a total lifestyle change, not just a fad diet. You are working on your mental relationship with food as much as the tastes and dependencies you have developed over a lifetime.


Should You Go Lazy Keto or Strict Keto

If you are just getting started, I suggest trying a more informed approach by tracking what you are eating and seeing how you react to the new changes in your diet. You will learn a great deal about your body and the foods you eat.

On the other hand, if you’ve been doing lazy keto for a while and are hitting a stall in your weight loss or want to try and maximize your results why not give a more focused approach a try?

Try it for a few weeks and see what may be causing you to stall. Are you overdoing the fat, overeating or under-eating protein or consuming too many calories? You will know for sure with just a little more effort, and you can adjust as needed. I think you will be surprised by how much impact even small changes can have on your keto success.

My Pruvit Journey – Please Read Before you Leave

I’ve been drinking ketones daily for 1 1/2 years and honestly can’t imagine life without them! I’m very passionate about this conversation and enjoy sharing it with others.

For me, drinking ketones daily gives me energy throughout the day without crashing, keeps me fueled and motivated to workout, lifts my mood, and keep my cravings under control ( I use to drink so much diet soda and since drinking ketones and keto kreme even my snacking has been under control).

I’ve had two rounds of experience drinking Keto//os, but the first time my commitment wasn’t there if I am being totally honest (my lifestyle/“diet” was since I’m being honest it was complete shit).

I joined beachbody on demand and I started doing  HIIT training – light running, yoga, and light weights) and I do that 2x per week and take Saturday and Sunday off.

Do You Have to Eat a Special Diet?Ketogenic diet

Many people ask me how to take Keto OS, and this is my recommendation:

  • Drink 1-2 servings of Keto OS per day and a new diet will follow naturally – because you won’t be as hungry and your carb and sugar cravings will be squashed!
  • Use the MCT or Keto Kreme in your coffee in the mornings, and a Keto Max in the afternoon(this is my current schedule)

Will you burn more fat if you eat a low carb or Keto diet?  YES, of course! At least go low carb if you’re looking for fat loss!

Does Keto OS Have Any Side Effects?

Like any supplement, not everyone will have the same exact experience. If you’re sensitive to caffeine and drink the Charged version late in the day, then you may have trouble falling asleep, just like coffee may keep you up.

How I Feel Drinking Daily Ketones

Keto Reboot + What To Expect (Update)

Many people have asked me, why would you not want to eat for 60 hours? Are you nuts? Not nuts, but I’m into health and wellness, and I’ve done plenty of different fasts before and I know they are of great benefit to your health.

When you have a virus on your computer, what do you do? Reboot it right? Well, your body is the same, and it’s the most important computer you own!

The Keto Reboot was the easiest, and most effective cleanse I’ve ever done! And that is why It’s the only one I continue to do!

Keto Reboot Schedule

The schedule and timing of drinking your Keto Kalm Tea, Keto Max, Keto Broth and Signal-OS is easy.

You can also adjust it to your schedule no problem! I happen to be on a very late schedule so I pushed everything back three hours.

It always starts on a Sunday night and ends on a Wednesday morning when you wake up to break your fast. People often ask me why it starts on a Sunday night and the reason is compliance. Generally, people cheat on the weekends.

Keto Reboot Instructions

Keto Reboot Day 1 – Sunday Night

The Keto Reboot always kicks off on a Sunday night and that’s when you drink your first Chocolate Keto Kalm Tea, easy peasy.

Keto Kalm Tea contains ketones (BHB), magnesium, L-theonine, and other ingredients to help you relax and promote restful sleep.

It tastes really good and is sweetened with Stevia. Think hot chocolate more than a tea…it’s a powder you mix with warm water.

The Signal-OS is packed full of AC-11 for DNA repair and high levels of Vitamin B.

Note: they’ve optimized the reboot instructions so you don’t take the Signal OS your first night anymore, rather the morning you break your fast. 

It’s best to eat a light meal Sunday night. Don’t go binging on pizza and cookies before fasting, instead eat a sensible meal, preferably one lower in carbs.

Get a good night’s rest Sunday night, as Monday will be your first full day without food.

Don’t panic at the thought of this…ketones are a fuel source and provide energy. They are also filling and suppress your appetite. This is why you feel so good during the reboot!

Keto Reboot Day 2 – Monday

When Monday arrives, you wake up and drink a Raspberry Lemonade Keto Max which tastes just like a country lemonade.

Making it is simple, you just add 12-16 oz of water and ice and shake, shake, shake!

Keto Max flavors are a mainstay of Pruvit’s line up, and the only ketones on the market bioidentical to the ketones your liver makes naturally. I drink Keto Max on a daily basis and it comes in many flavors.

If you have other Keto Max flavors on hand, or Keto Amped  (not a pruvit product I got mine through Amazon).you can drink any of these in place of the Raspberry lemonade if you prefer! I drank the Keto Max Heart Tart to switch things up!

A couple of hours after drinking your Keto Max, you take your Signal-OS capsules. During my experience during the reboot, some people preferred taking their Signal-OS with the broth, which is perfectly fine.

Lunchtime consists of Keto Thyme Better Broth which contains 7 grams of protein (it’s real bone broth with ketones). I’ll be honest it’s good when made into a slush. I took ice cubes and blended the bone broth and ice cubes together and made it into a slush.

Afternoon you drink a decaf Raspberry Lemonade and then dinner is the Better Broth Salted Caramel, which tastes just like caramel popcorn!

While I drank my Better Broth Salted Caramel with warm water as directed (not boiling), some people really enjoyed drinking it cold with ice. It doesn’t make a difference. It’s on the sweet side so diluting with more water is fine to suit your taste.

I also had no problem taking my Signal-OS separate from the broth, I followed the Keto Reboot instructions to a “T.”

Your last drink of the day on Day 2 is the Keto Kalm Tea Caramel Apple flavor, which is a bit sweet for my liking but easily drinkable.

Pruvit does a great job with their flavors but remember, ketone salts are just that…BHB salts (beta-hydroxybutyrate)…. so masking the salts is necessary. If you don’t like the taste, suck it up and know it’s all worth it!!

Don’t forget – drink LOTS of water during your reboot! It’s very important. You’re detoxing and you need to give the toxins a way out, or you could wind up with headaches or other unwanted side effects.

If you do get a headache, up your water intake and add a pinch of Himalayan salt to increase your electrolytes.

Keto Reboot Day 2 – How I Felt

I am used to intermittent fasting….every day I start my day with coffee and Pruvit’s MCT//143 oil and then drink Keto Max a couple hours later. I usually don’t eat my first meal until about 2:00pm. So how did I feel on Day 2? Pretty awesome! I wasn’t hungry at all.

They recommend depleting your glycogen stores on Day 2 to shift your body into ketosis more quickly. This isn’t the day to break any personal records at the gym, just doing a light workout is good, just do something! If you don’t feel up to working out It is okay to skip the gym. Remember you aren’t intaking that many calories.

It was also the evening of Day 2 that I starting really detoxing and making frequent trips to the bathroom. Yes, you’re gonna poop…this is a CLEANSE. You’re emptying the tank! I think I went about 6x.

It’s not a big deal and it’s not uncontrollable. You feel it coming on and you go to the bathroom. Some people are hesitant to do this while they’re at work but don’t be! You’ll be fine.

Some people didn’t have this happen until day 2, or even day 3. I guess it depends how backed up you are and how regular you are normally.

I think for some people, day 2 may be the hardest, especially if you’ve never done a cleanse before. So if you can just get through day 2, you’ll be fine come day 3.

By Day 3, you’ll be burning your love handles for fuel and you will feel a metabolic “shift.” You will be in a deep state of ketosis! 

Keto Reboot Day 3 – Tuesday

Day 3 of the Keto Reboot is your second full day of not eating, and is a repeat of Day 2’s schedule so I won’t rehash it, but I will tell you how I felt as I was using my own fat for fuel!

Keto Reboot Day 3 – How I Felt

I wasn’t hungry at all by day 3. By this time, you’re in a deep state of ketosis and you’re body is tapping into its fat stores for fuel.  This is what they mean by a “metabolic shift.”

I did go on a walk, but only lapped my block in case I needed to go to the bathroom, which I didn’t until later that night. For me, it was always the dinner time broth that kicked that part in. Everyone’s different.

I didn’t experience ANY hunger “pangs” or pains.

But the ketones in all the products really do keep you feeling full and your hunger suppressed. Once you do start to feel a little hunger, it’s time for your next drink.

Even though I wasn’t feeling physically hungry, come evening time there was the thought of food…and being so accustomed to eating at certain times.

This is also why the reboot can really help break bad habits when it comes to food and snacking! Fasting is very empowering!

Testing your Ketone Levels

 

Post reboot I tested my ketone levels on a Keto strip and it was super dark! By this point, my liver was breaking down fat into ketone bodies and being used for energy!

By the way, don’t get too hung on peeing on stuff, blood ketone tests are far more accurate than urine strips but they’ll give you an idea.

Keto Reboot – Breaking the Fast

When my 60-hour reboot was complete, I woke up and I wasn’t hungry at all, but I felt a little weak so I knew I was ready to eat something. I actually went about 65 hours before breaking my fast.

It’s recommended you break your fast with some bone broth (any brand) and some scrambled eggs. I just opted for a couple scrambled eggs in butter.

Eat light the remainder of this day…. your digestion has been resting, your stomach shrank, and you won’t feel as hungry.

Keto Reboot Results – Reboot #1

So let’s face it, some of you will want to do this fast to kick start your fat loss! Who are we kidding? My main goal of the reboot was for ABS. I did lose 5 lbs and my stomach was FLAT and I felt amazing! I said goodbye to all the bloat and I had crazy amounts of natural energy.

Sidenote: Results may vary. Not everyone will have the same results as me or maybe someone you may know.

It completely reset my diet and I went on to eat a more strict vegetarian diet easily in following weeks. When you accomplish something so huge, you really think twice about putting something naughty in your mouth.

Food tastes so good after fasting that you have a much greater appreciation for healthy, nutritious foods!

One huge thing I noticed was how my gut improved…without TMI, let’s just say I’m very regular now and everything looks good!

Post Reboot Optimization

Optimizing post reboot is so important! If you want to stay in this fat burning state of ketosis, you can do that by continuing to drink ketones daily and following a lower carb “diet”.

Don’t just do the reboot and then get upset if you start eating bad and the weight creeps back on – you have to keep at it and the Reboot is a great JUMP START.  Old habits, “diet” hard, and continuing to drink your ketones daily is KEY!

And if you’re brand new to ketones –  heed my advice to Keto adapt a little BEFORE the reboot. Even that just means drinking one Keto Max per day for a week prior or maybe have some fat coffee using Keto Kreme and doing some shorter intermittent fasting day.

Keto Reboot Results – Reboot #2

I did my second Keto Reboot in May and I lasted the whole 60 hrs. I had so MUCH energy! It felt good to rely on just ketones and not ketones and coffee for those days I needed a HUGE pick-me-up.

Bulletproof Coffee (Vegan,GF & Keto)

Today I bring you something cool. Bulletproof coffee. If you have been living under a rock then you already know that Bulletproof coffee has taken America by storm. Bulletproof coffee promises to Increase energy, help digestion, suppress appetite, and even help with metabolism. Bulletproof coffee started out In the Paleo community or even those who aren’t full Paleo or even Paleo at all.

What Is Bulletproof Coffee?

If you are unfamiliar with what bulletproof coffee Is I’m going to explain to you what It Is. It’s described as a clean way of drinking coffee without all the sugar and cream. Bulletproof Coffee Is non-toxic, pesticide-free, and herbicide free ( herbicide a substance that is toxic to plants and is used to destroy unwanted vegetation.) You are blending It with chain triglyceride ( chain triglycerides (MCTs) are partially man-made fats. The name refers to the way the carbon atoms are arranged in their chemical structure. MCTs are generally made by processing coconut and palm kernel oils in the laboratory. Usual dietary fats, by comparison, are long-chain triglycerides. People use MCTs as medicine.) Bulletproof Coffee Is best If consumed first thing In the morning and on an empty stomach or with a light breakfast.

The original Bulletproof coffee involves blending coconut oil a well-known superfood high In medium chain triglycerides. If you didn’t know the original bulletproof coffee calls for grass-fed butter. The healthy fats blended with the coffee help create satiety (the quality or state of being fed or gratified to or beyond capacity) ward off hunger, jump-start the metabolism, and can help the caffeine from coffee digest more slowly, which prevents insulin crashes often caused by caffeine Intake. 

I know It sounds too good to be true butter and all. If you are all for grass-fed butter In your coffee you do you and add that butter. I am not too keen adding butter of any kind to my coffee. I’m going to give you some tips on how to make Bulletproof Coffee Vegan and still beneficial just like the original.

Tips:

1) If you aren’t keen on using grass-fed butter or even vegan butter you can simply replace the butter with 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil or non-organic depending on what you have. Also when looking for coconut oil make sure It’s cold pressed. By making sure your coconut oil Is cold-pressed you are avoiding pesticides and heating agents.

2) Another choice you can use In replace of butter Is coconut butter. I don’t use coconut butter mainly because It Is expensive. But It Is a good option If you are looking for a buttery taste to your coffee that leaves your coffee frothy. 

3) If you opt not to use coconut butter or any butter at all you can always add some heavy cream or some non-dairy cream. The coconut oil you add will still make your coffee frothy but by adding some type of creamer your coffee will be extra frothy.

I know you came here for the recipe and I’m about to give you the recipe. I just want to say sorry for adding some facts and getting sidetracked. I thought you would appreciate some facts before the recipe. 

Bulletproof Coffee Vegan, Gluten Free,& Keto

The Ingredients: 8 oz. of brewed coffee. ( I make 16 oz. because I love coffee)

1 Tbsp of coconut oil (or any type of butter you are using)

4 packets of stevia ( Or any keto, vegan or gluten-free sweetener of choice)

OPTIONAL: 3 dashes of Pumpkin Pie Spice

OPTIONAL: Creamer of choice

 DIRECTIONS: Blended the coffee and all of your Ingredients In a blender. Blend until nice and frothy. Pour Into your coffee mug and sprinkle some extra pumpkin pie spice as a garnish.

Use the pictures as a reference to what It should look like In the blender and I will post a picture of the Ingredients I use every day for my coffee. At the end of the post, I will tell you a little how I feel when I drink bulletproof coffee.

It’s nice and Frothy. When you pour It Into your mug the liquid will pour out first and then the froth. Don’t worry your coffee Is still nice and frothy on top. If you want you can add extra pumpkin pie spice I do. Pumpkin Pie Spice Is a good way to get flavor without extra carbs or calories. But like always you can add double the Ingredients If It fits your macros.

Keto Mousse

Since coming off the reboot I haven’t gone back to my old way of eating. I’ve tried to stick with Keto eating. I had some coke zero yesterday and I was fine no bloat or anything. Yesterday I made a small gut-friendly salad and for dinner, I made pumpkin spice pancakes all keto friendly. Today I will be sharing with you a recipe that Is SUPER SIMPLE to make and delicious. The best part about this recipe Is that It takes only 2 Ingredients with the 3rd being optional.

I honestly made this today and It was gone today. Seriously most of It was gone before It even hit the fridge to firm up. I mentioned that this recipe Is SUPER SIMPLE and that Is because It Is. This recipe Is super versatile. You can change It according to your keto needs and your macros.

                                  Recipe

~Ingredients: 1 box of sugar-free vanilla pudding mix

2 cups of Cold Heavy Cream (Not whipping)

Pumpkin pie Spice (Optional)

~Directions: Add the cold Heavy Cream to a stand mixer or a mixing bowl and then add the Vanilla Pudding Mix and If you’re using the pumpkin pie spice. On medium speed In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer mix until the Heavy cream starts to resemble a mousse.

You can either enjoy It now or you can pop It In the fridge for 1-2 hours for It to firm up. When I made this today hardly any was left after this picture was taken.

Pruvit keto reboot (Day 2) + Recap

A few days ago I mentioned that I was embarking on a 60-hour pruvit keto reboot. that reboot Is 100% liquid based. I’ve never a liquid detox before so I was excited and curious to see how my body would react to no food. If you are curious about how day one went here Is the link.

                                     Reboot Day 2

Today I’m going to talk about how day 2 went. My day 2 started at 11:30 In the morning just like day 1. I got up and made my Raspberry Max Keto//OS And then I took 2 Signal//OS capsules.

Around 1:30pm I made my first “meal” It consisted of the Salted Caramel Bone Broth. This time I didn’t make It hot I made It Into a slushie. I took a tray of Ice and the Bone Broth and In the blender, I crushed It up like a slushie. It was good. My feelings were that I wasn’t hungry I just wanted food.

3:00pm I had my next and final Keto Max//OS. My feelings changed. I wanted food and my stomach started to grumble for the first time during the “detox”. My mood became weird. I can’t explain It. I wasn’t grumpy but I wasn’t happy either.

Around 6:00pm When everyone else In the house was eating dinner I decided It was time for me to “eat” my final meal. Again It was my final packet of the Salted Caramel Bone Broth. I made It the same way like I did In the afternoon the only difference Is that I crushed the Ice up finer like a snow cone. And honestly, If I had a snow cone paper holder I would’ve eaten like a snow cone.

FEELINGS: After I finished my “meal” my mind started counting down the hours until 11:30 pm. Because If I made It to 11:30 then I’m done with the liquid “detox” and when I wake up I will officially be 60 hours In.

11:30 pm I made my final Keto Kalm In the flavor Caramel Apple. Just like the first night It was very sweet so I diluted It. And I took my last 2 Signal//OS capsules. My friend was hanging out which made the final hours go by really fast.

Wednesday Hour 60. I woke up with a headache. I don’t know If It’s because I didn’t have like soda caffeine or coffee caffeine In at this point a little over 60 hours. But I was excited to FINALLY get something Into my stomach. I made 2 eggs since that was recommended for breaking the “fast/detox”. I made the eggs and they were delicious but my stomach got upset and I didn’t feel well. I felt like I did on day one when I started to have to use the bathroom a lot.

I broke my fast with 2 eggs and since then my stomach has been upset. Overall I do feel lighter and pretty good considering that my stomach Is a bit upset. I do notice a difference In my stomach area. I can’t be for sure If I lost any weight because I don’t have a scale. I can tell you that my pants and underwear are loser meaning I need new underwear that isn’t big on me.

As you can see from the pictures there Is a difference. This reboot Is not for everybody. You have to be mentally prepared for It. If you aren’t prepared mentally you will fail. Or If you like a challenge than this Is for you.

FOOD: In the morning I had eggs and later In the day I had had a keto friendly salad. I made my own dressing. And I had a few bites of cake. I still have a slight headache and my bathroom has gone back to normal a bit. I made myself another cup of coffee and sipped on It for a bit and I got coke zero because that Is keto approved and I also sipped on that. I’m going to eat small things until my body gets used to food again. The food I did eat I don’t feel bloated at all I still feel nice and light.
