What is C-Med 100?

Pruvit ketones have been advancing for some time and the additional of AC-11 in the new Keto Max and Keto Kreme formulas was one such advancement.

What is R-Beta Hydroxybutyrate

Lazy Ways To Lose Weight

The one thing I can be when it comes to working out or any type of physical exercise is lazy. Long hours each day is taxing I can’t imagine any amount of time at the gym and restrictive “diets” are tough to maintain when you want to lose weight. Grocery and bill budgets and busy schedules might not allow us to attend a gym sesh every morning and eating organic food and green juices (yeah right). Although exercise is important for good health, there are easy ways to lose weight without stepping foot into your local gym. Don’t get demoralized! Only a few slight changes to your daily routine can be enough to slim down:

 Use Smaller Plates

It’s natural to want to fill up your plate, but by using a smaller one, you can fill your plate and still cut down on the amount of food you end up eating. You actually trick your mind into thinking you ate more than you did since your plate looks so full.


 Take The Stairs

It may seem daunting, but taking the stairs instead of an elevator can tone your tush in no time. It’s strength training without actually hitting the gym, so opt for stairs the next time you need to head up a few flights!


 Don’t Eat in Front of the TV

When you’re distracted, you’re not paying attention to how much food you’re consuming. Researchers have found that watching TV or watching a movie at home while eating leads to higher calorie consumption since you’re eating without thinking. Be especially mindful while snacking so you can avoid packing on extra pounds.

Get More Sleep

Studies have shown that lack of sleep can lead to weight gain, a slower metabolism, and an increased risk of obesity and diabetes. So, clock in an extra few hours of shut-eye to ensure you keep your waistline slim and your energy up.


 Don’t Deny Yourself Sweets

Denying yourself your favorite snack will only make you crave it more. We always want what we can’t have!. Instead of cutting out sweets entirely, allow yourself to indulge in that fun-size bag of Doritos or two scoops of gelato once a week. That way, you won’t binge on your favorite treats if you fall off the wagon once or twice (which, by the way, you shouldn’t beat yourself up about — it happens). 


 Down a Glass of Water Before Meals

It’s easy to confuse hunger with thirst, so drink a glass of water before a big meal to ensure you’re not simply thirsty. A glass of agua will make you feel fuller so you won’t eat as much during your meal.   


 

Learn to Love Green Tea

Save those Frappuccinos for an occasional treat and learn to love the green stuff — no, not money, teaGreen tea is known to reduce belly fat, boost metabolism and help digestion, so drink up!


Limit Going Out to Dinner to Eat

Unlimited breadsticks, anyone? It’s nice to treat yourself to a meal out with friends every once in a while, but restaurant portions are always much bigger than anything you would normally make at home. Save the night’s out for special occasions so you can indulge within reason.


Eat Sitting Down

Studies have found that eating while standing up is not only bad for digestion, it actually leads you to consume more calories. When standing up, you eat food more quickly, so you’re more likely not to realize how full you’ve actually become. Take a few minutes to sit down and enjoy your meal.


 Don’t Drink Your Calories

You might be sabotaging your own diet plan without even realizing it! Drinking high-calorie beverages might not seem like a big deal at the time, but at the end of the day it adds up. Your morning Starbucks latte has an average of 265 calories, your afternoon soda has 227, and your evening ice tea has 180. When all is said and done, you’re approaching nearly 1000 calories in drinks alone! One of the easiest ways to lose weight is to replace your sugary beverages with water.


 Walk Everywhere

 If you just can’t seem to squeeze in a workout sesh at your gym, torch a few extra calories by choosing to walk as much as you can. Take a walk around the office at lunchtime, or skip the bus and walk to work. Walking increases cardiovascular health and strengthens muscles. Studies have even shown that it may even be just as good for you as running!


Ditch the Sweatpants

News Flash: You know those glorious, ultra-comfortable, 10-year-old pair of sweatpants you love so much? They are not your friend. Sweatpants are the most forgiving piece of clothing out there — which is why we love them when we feel bloated before our periods, but not so much when we’re minding our weight. Jeans, on the other hand, will tell you right away if you’re bursting with food and help you say “no, thanks!” to seconds.

My Pruvit Journey – Please Read Before you Leave

I’ve been drinking ketones daily for 1 1/2 years and honestly can’t imagine life without them! I’m very passionate about this conversation and enjoy sharing it with others.

For me, drinking ketones daily gives me energy throughout the day without crashing, keeps me fueled and motivated to workout, lifts my mood, and keep my cravings under control ( I use to drink so much diet soda and since drinking ketones and keto kreme even my snacking has been under control). 

When I first started, I lost 8 lbs my first few months, settled into a happy weight and I’ve kept it off for the most part. But I’m human, and like everyone else – sometimes I get off track! :-p

I’ve had two rounds of experience drinking Keto//os, but the first time my commitment wasn’t there if I am being totally honest (my lifestyle/“diet” was since I’m being honest it was complete shit).

However, after starting the ketones I noticed my clothes started to fit better and I wasn’t as hungry. 

Like many ( I am no exception) with any lifestyle change we get excited about starting, I got complacent after a while. I got out of the habit of drinking Keto//os, and I started eating badly again! (Sorry Body)!

Keto Max Results – Committed to Ketones!

Round #2 with Keto//os It Was Now Or Never!

I joined beachbody on demand and I started doing  HIIT training – light running, yoga, and light weights) and I do that 2x per week and take Saturday and Sunday off.

I also ate a strict ketogenic diet (vegetarian) the first couple of weeks getting back on the ketones which helped a lot to get my body burning fat for fuel. But after a while, I just didn’t feel like following a strict Keto diet was for me, so I added back some carbs on my workout days and non-workout days.

Ladies and gents today I bring you a post all about ketones. I dig deep. What are ketones? How do we produce ketones? And finally what are ketones used for? This post Is 1 of 2 ketones related content. What Are Ketones and Are They Healthy? 

If you are up on your health news or follow anyone in the health field, you have likely heard the term ketogenic diet. The goal of the ketogenic diet is to adapt the body to utilize fat as its primary fuel source instead of sugar. The body does this by first converting fat into what are called ketones that the cells can then burn as fuel. It is at this point that I typically get asked, what are ketones?

 

 

Biological Role of Ketones 

For our ancestors, eating three meals a day just wasn’t a thing. Instead they would hunt and forage for the foods they could find. When there wasn’t food, they wouldn’t eat.

What this means is that sometimes they would go for days at a time with no food. To sustain life during times of scarcity, the body is thought to have developed the ability to utilize fat as an alternative fuel source.

In a traditional nutrition course, you would learn that sugar is the body’s primary fuel source while fat is a secondary fuel source. When sugar stores are burned up, the cells then convert to burning fat as an energy source.  What we are finding out now is that fat can actually be a healthier and more sustainable source of energy.

 

Our Society Is Full of Sugar Burners 

Modern day, we have an abundance of food that is available to us at all times. Most of us regularly eat three meals a day with intermittent snacking in between.

This kind of frequent eating, along with an overemphasis on carb-rich and sugary foods, causes a reduced ability to burn fat. As these foods damage our bodies on a metabolic level, we actually lose the ability to produce ketones.

This type of reliance on sugar creates massive blood sugar spikes, inflammation, hormone imbalance, and ultimately many of the chronic diseases that plague our society today.  Luckily, by adopting a more ketogenic style of eating, we can reverse this damage and revert back to the efficient fat-burning machines we were meant to be!

 

The Advantage of Ketones 

The energy currency of the body comes in the form of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). The mitochondria within every cell in the body either metabolize glucose or ketones to form this important energy molecule.

Based on what we understand of cellular energy metabolism, ketones are able to create much greater amounts of energy per molecule than glucose.   This means when the body begins to convert fat into ketones, you actually have a much more stable and sustainable energy source. 

At the same time, burning fat does not create the same insulin and blood sugar response that burning sugar does. This is part of the profound benefits of being in ketosis including, improved hormone balance, lowered inflammation, and improved brain health.

Likewise, many people report feeling much more stable when they go into ketosis. Feeling less hungry, gaining control over cravings, and often experiencing a much more stable emotional state.

 

How The Body Gets Into Ketosis 

As I mentioned already, the body will either burn sugar or fat for energy. Sugar is converted into glucose while fats are converted into ketones by the liver.  When blood sugar drops and glycogen stores are burned up, the body begins to convert fat into ketones for energy.

As we continue to learn more about the benefits of ketones, people are intentionally putting themselves into this state for therapeutic benefits as well as a heightened state of mental performance.

There are several ways to promote an increase in ketone bodies, as mentioned below. The general strategy is to supply the body with ample fats while depleting blood glucose to signal the metabolic shift towards fat-burning.

 

Types Of Ketones

Unlike the simple conversion of sugar into glucose, fatty acid metabolism actually results in 3 different types of ketones:

Acetate (Acetone)

Acetoacetate (AcAc)

Beta Hydroxybutyrate (BHB)

BHB, based on its molecular structure, is not really a ketone. Yet its presence is part of the beneficial effects of being in ketosis. Among its benefits is the ability to modulate BDNF in the brain and stimulate the growth of new neural tissue exercise.

AcAc is the primary ketone body and is either converted into energy or BHB.  Acetone exhibits the least metabolic effect and is mostly broken down and excreted through the breath and urine.  The acetone excreted through the breath is actually responsible for the “keto breath” that some people experience in the beginning stages of keto-adaptation.

 

Measuring Your Ketone Levels 

When the body produces ketones, some are used for energy while the rest are circulated or excreted. Because of this, ketones are measurable in the blood, the saliva, and the breath.

Different ketones are measurable as follows:

BHB: In the blood

Acetone: In the breath

AcAc: In the urine

Although ketones can be measured in different ways, not all of them are quite an accurate representation of the body’s true ketogenic state. This is why most experts rely on the measurement of BHB through the blood as the ideal method.

Although this sounds invasive, new technology has actually made performing ketone measurements at home fairly simple and cheap.

 Blood Measurement 

As I said already, blood measurement for BHB is considered the most accurate depiction of the ketogenic state. This is performed in a similar fashion to blood sugar testing.

Many of the blood glucose monitors on the market also have the ability to read blood ketones. Using a different type of testing strip, all you have to do is prick your finger, collect a small sample of blood, and place it into the monitor for a quick ketone measurement.

The monitor I usually recommend is this Precision Xtra monitor.

The ranges you are looking for here are as follows:

Very Low Ketone Levels:  Less than 0.5 mmol/L

Mild Ketosis:  0.6-1.5 mmol/L

Optimal Ketosis:  1.6-3.0 mmol/L

Very High Ketone Levels:  Greater than 3.0 mmol/L

Although mild ketosis can be achieved rather quickly, it can take up to 2-3 weeks to enter an optimized ketogenic state. The only downside with blood ketone measurement is that the testing strips generally run for about $4 per strip. To perform daily ketone measurements using this method you would be looking at around $120 per month on just testing strips!

 

 Breath Measurement 

For a ketone measurement that doesn’t require a blood draw or the recurring expense of test strips, breath ketones are also a reliable measurement (Breath Acetone).

Using a device such as this Ketonix breath analyzer, you can perform a simple ketone measurement anytime you need.  Although this device will run you for about $190, over time it will likely be a more economical option compared to blood testing since it is only a one-time fee.

It is important to note that while breath ketone measurement is mostly reliable, factors such as alcohol and water consumption may influence your measurements. Luckily you can take multiple measurements throughout the day to get a better idea of your average ketone levels.

Using the Ketonix breath ketones measurement, the device will light up different colors depending on your state of ketosis. Based on the chart below you would want to be in the yellow or red zone for optimal nutritional ketosis.

 

 Urine Measurement 

The body releases unused acetoacetate through the urine upon which it can then be measured using special testing strips. This is a simple option that is also very cost effective at about $10 per 100 strips.

Although simple and cheap, urine measurement of ketones can be somewhat unreliable. This measurement will allow you to see if your body is producing ketones, it doesn’t necessarily provide any insight into how well your body is utilizing ketones for energy.

Additionally, urine ketone measurements can vary significantly depending on the individual’s hydration levels. For example, dehydration will make ketone levels appear higher, while overhydration will make them appear lower.

During the beginning phases of keto-adaptation, the body has a poor ability to utilize ketones as energy. Even if the body is producing ketones, most of them will be excreted. Once the body becomes keto-adapted, higher amounts of ketones are used as energy and less are excreted naturally.

So if you were to choose urine measurement for ketone analysis, I would recommend measuring daily from the very beginning of your eating plan. You should notice an initial increase in ketones into the high range followed by a gradual decrease as you become keto-adapted.

Although your ketones will be high, you will actually be hypoglycemic until your body learns to utilize ketones effectively. As you become keto-adapted you should look for a drop in urine ketone levels between 2-3 weeks of eating a ketogenic style diet.

This drop in urine ketone levels lets you know that your body is becoming more efficient at actually using them for energy.

 

 Ketoacidosis 

The state of nutritional ketosis is sometimes confused with a state referred to as ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis is an extreme ketotic state that occurs mostly in diabetes populations. When an individual is unable to produce insulin, sugar cannot get into the cells. As a response, the body drastically upregulates ketone production.

In this state, there is both an extremely elevated blood sugar and blood ketone level simultaneously (4). This will cause the overall pH of the body to drop to a dangerously acidic level which can be fatal.  While this condition can be harmful for the individual, it is important to note that entering this state is actually very rare.

To put this into perspective, this condition mainly occurs in unmanaged diabetics. In this state, ketone levels will reach 20 mmol/L and beyond. An otherwise healthy individual could water fast for 20 days and still maintain a ketone concentration below 20 mmol/L.

In other words, unless you are diabetic, reaching a state of ketoacidosis through diet alone is virtually impossible.

 

My Thoughts

Ketones are the body’s alternative fuel source to sugar. Derived from fatty acids, they provide a much more long-lasting and stable production of energy. In addition to providing stable energy, ketones also do not promote the inflammatory rise and fall of insulin as does sugar.

Modern dietary habits have altered our metabolism and made sugar our primary fuel source. By following a ketogenic style of eating, it is possible to reverse these metabolic defects and take advantage of the benefits that ketones have to offer for our brains and bodies!

Desserts & Sugar Alternatives

Desserts can be hard to come by when you are following a low carb or keto lifestyle. Most desserts that “Claim” to be low carb taste like dried out gym socks and other ones have hidden carbs. If you are following a low carb lifestyle than most likely you are trying or avoid all together Sugar and Flour. You probably thought If you are avoiding sugar the dessert or baked goods might not taste good. The answer to that Is yes and no. It all depends what type of “sugar” alternative that company uses. There are many “sugar” alternatives out there that can make “almost” anything taste good. The one thing I found that works for my low carb baking Are Sugar-Free Syrups. I love to use them In place of sugar and even sugar alternatives. 

Replacing Traditional Flours

Flours aren’t part of a low-carb lifestyle. Coconut Flour Is okay to use and almond flour but what If you are allergic to almonds or coconuts and you want to bake something? You are probably thinking how to replace the flour. I remember back when I use to be Vegan that I used flaxseed meal A LOT! The best thing about flaxseed meal Is that If you ran out of flour or If you are low carb you can use flaxseed meal as a flour alternative. For example, in baked goods, coconut and almond flours, or almond or flaxseed meal, can be used in place of traditional all-purpose flour, and sugar-free or dark chocolate chips in place of milk chocolate (which contains more sugar). 

Why you should make your own homemade whip cream

Unfortunately, the store bought whip cream you are used to doesn’t jive with a low carb or keto lifestyle. If that doesn’t get you Into making your own homemade version of this frozen topping then maybe all the “other added” sugars and suspicious Ingredients that you can’t pronounce. There Is sugar-free cool whip. That does fit within a low carb or keto lifestyle the problem with It Is that It contains Hydrogenated oils and that Isn’t very healthy If you are trying to lose weight because of the cholesterol. Luckily there Is always a homemade version of your favorite treat you just have to look for the recipe and adjust It according to your dietary needs. You can make this “junk” free, easy and delicious homemade whip cream.

Here Is how to make this delicious homemade whip cream In about 10 minutes and 2 Ingredients!

Ingredients

1/2 cup of heavy cream (Ultra Pasteurized)

2-4 light drops of sugar-free pumpkin syrup (you can use any sugar-free syrup you like)

Here Is what I used. You want a high-fat content so the cream will turn Into whip cream the lower the fat content the lower chance It will work. I tried this recipe many times and this Is what has worked for me and hasn’t let me down.

                                            Heavy Cream & Sugar-Free Syrup

Directions:

First Add your mixing bowl In the freezer about 15 minutes before you make this recipe.You can use a Hand mixer or a Hand whisk but the hand whisk will take longer.  I didn’t do that (I forgot) and It took a bit longer for the Heavy Cream to whip up. Start off on a low-speed setting. Add your sweetener of choice. Only add a drop or two of the sweetener so you don’t add too much. You can always add more sweetener you can’t take It away. As the cream thickens slowly Increase the speed. After about 4 minutes start checking If the cream starts having soft peeks, which Is what you are looking for. As you see the cream slowly starting to have soft peaks start lowering the speed. You DO NOT WANT TO OVERBEAT IT! When you over beat the cream will start to lose volume and break up like butter. Pay attention because you don’t want that to happen and It can happen VERY QUICKLY! If for some reason you forgot to adjust the sweetness you can do It at this point. And BOOM! There you have It homemade whip cream that won’t break your carb budget. 

1/2 cup of Heavy cream got me just little over 1 cup. So you can always double the recipe If you are looking to have a big batch on hand. When my whip was done I put It In the freezer like regular whip cream. If you opt for the fridge you can enjoy homemade whip cream for about 2 days. 

You can put It on pancakes Is what I did. You can eat It out of the bowl, use It for Ice Cream toppings or even frost a cake or cupcakes.

20180430_131809As you can see from the picture It Is nice and fluffy. It’s sweet but not too sweet. Of course, If you are used to the frozen whip cream than this might be an adjustment for you. But If you are like me and you like to make homemade things as often as possible then I highly recommend this recipe. Another great thing about this recipe Is that you can make It Into homemade whipped frosting.

1 Week Keto Update

A little over a week ago 9 days ago I finished the Pruvit Keto Reboot. (Link to that post will be at the end of this post). In today’s post, I will give you a rundown on how I feel and If after 1 week am I still doing Keto and If I plan on doing Keto long Term or just until I reach my fitness and health goals. Since this will be a lengthy post I’m going to label each section for you. So If you are Interested In reading a certain section you can scroll down and find that section. Everything I mention If possible I will add links to recipes that I mention some have links some don’t. I will mention pancakes that don’t have a link to the recipe will be at the end of this post.

Keto Reboot Update

9 days ago I finished the Pruvit Keto Reboot. I went 60 hours without food and survived on just liquids. I can’t say for sure If I lost any weight because I don’t own a scale. I will say this my clothes are a bit looser on me and my stomach Is flatter. I’ll Insert a 1-week picture update now. Scroll down for the continued update.

1 Week Post Reboot

20180425_120913 (1)This picture Is 100% real. I didn’t do any fancy posing I didn’t suck It In. This Is what my stomach looks like after 9 days post reboot and first thing In the morning with no food or water yet. Believe me when I drank water after I took this picture my stomach looked like I was 5 months pregnant.

Keto Update Continued

During the 3 days, I ate pretty light and I did eat keto per the Reboot after Instructions. I broke my fast around the 62-hour mark. I made a BIG cup of coffee and 2 eggs. It was the most delicious meal I ever had! My stomach was a bit queasy after. I think It was due to the fact that I broke my fast with coffee? (Yes I did drink water when I woke up). After I ate I made what Is called a fat-burning salad dressing. I will post the link to the original recipe below ( I did modify It to my personal needs I made It vegan).

I made a salad for lunch and pancakes for dinner. I will post the link to what I ate after the reboot. Day 2 post reboot I did keep It keto and simple keto simple recipes. The recipes were super simple and super easy to make but did require some Ingredients that I didn’t have on hand. (In a future blog I will post some of my favorite recipes from the past 9 days).  I have kept It Keto and haven’t gone back to my “old ways”.

Breaking Bad Habits

Since finishing the reboot I really, for the most part, haven’t gone back to my old habits. I have made some changes and If I didn’t do the Reboot this post wouldn’t even exist. When you are doing the reboot you aren’t allowed soda or caffeine or soda or anything. The reboot Is a liquid diet. During the reboot, my body detoxed from all the sugar and caffeine I filled my body with before and even the day of the reboot.

The main thing I noticed when coming off the reboot Is that I didn’t crave soda or sugary candy or junk food. It Is true what they say. This reboot does reset your body to a healthier lifestyle whether you are going keto or just want a fresh start for a healthier you. I did go back to soda (not often) when I do drink soda I drink coke zero and I will only have a small glass now back In the day before the reboot I could have a whole 2 liter In one day. I also didn’t go back to candy. I use to eat a whole bag full of sour patch kids In one day and In one sitting. I haven’t had sour patch kids In actually 2 weeks. I stopped eating candy 2 weeks before the reboot so my body wouldn’t go Into total shock. And as for junk food. I only eat either keto friendly junk food or Benitos chips. They aren’t that keto friendly In terms of carbs. But When the craving hits I just eat a few to satisfy that craving.

Am I Still Doing Keto/ Intermittent Fasting

I am still doing keto but It’s more of a trial basis. As currently I am recipe testing keto recipes and trying to either make It vegan It or make It vegetarian. I have been eating a lot more salads because It Is the easiest way for me to hit my macros and still have some room for when the junk food craving hit. I have started Intermittent fasting again and honestly, I didn’t do It on purpose I started drinking bulletproof coffee and I stopped eating when I wasn’t hungry anymore and with those things combined, I unintentionally started Intermittent fasting. I can’t say I mind It. The thing Is some days I can go almost 20 hours without eating because I’m just not that hungry. Also on those days, I eat maybe 1 meal and 1 snack for that day and that IS NOT HEALTHY!

So now I try and break my fast around 5 and eat until 10 or 11 pm. For some they don’t like going to bed full I, however, don’t mind going to bed feeling full. Also, I am up until 3 am so It does give my body some time to digest before I lay down.

Keto Long Term

As of right now, I can’t say If I will do It long term. I can say I do see myself continuing the Keto lifestyle for a long time but how long of a time Is to be determined. I can’t deny the results I maintained and saw from eating Keto for 9 days. The main thing I learned In these 9 days Is that keto Is mind over matter. If you are coming off of what Is called “The Standard American Diet” and you want to start the Keto Lifestyle than you might have to mentally prepare yourself. Keto Is a lifestyle, not just a diet. Diet Is something you do Short term to reach your ideal weight.

Disclaimer: I want to put a Disclaimer out there. If you have ever suffered from some type of eating disorder or your relationship with food Is bad. THAN KETO IS NOT FOR YOU! In the beginning when you switch your diet from low fat to high fat, low carb diet It can suppress your appetite. I should know. I think the reason for mine Is because of the Bulletproof coffee. Keto Is not designed for you to Intake little to no calories. Listen to me when I say the loss of appetite will go away and your body will go back to normal. Mine took about the 9 days to start being normal again and because your appetite Is suppressed you may also experience constipation. Before I went Keto I was “regular” and when I switched from an unhealthy vegetarian diet to a Keto/Vegetarian diet my body was backed up for about 3 days and then It took about 5 days to get back to full regular schedule. 

Fitness & Health Goals

I am VERY thankful to be a healthy woman. I don’t have any serious health “Issues” and for that I am thankful. I don’t have a certain weight I would like to see on the scale. I just go with the flow and If I had to put a number than I would say I would like to lose 30 pounds to start and then go from there. I stand at 5’5. So yes you can say I am overweight for my height. And as for Fitness goals. I do yoga 3-4 times a week to stretch and loosen my body back up. And when the gym opens up by my house I’ll join and start going to the gym. I also walk my dogs 2 times daily and to get some “extra” steps I walk the separate so that means I walk 4 times a day.

Bulletproof Coffee (Vegan,GF & Keto)

Today I bring you something cool. Bulletproof coffee. If you have been living under a rock then you already know that Bulletproof coffee has taken America by storm. Bulletproof coffee promises to Increase energy, help digestion, suppress appetite, and even help with metabolism. Bulletproof coffee started out In the Paleo community or even those who aren’t full Paleo or even Paleo at all.

What Is Bulletproof Coffee?

If you are unfamiliar with what bulletproof coffee Is I’m going to explain to you what It Is. It’s described as a clean way of drinking coffee without all the sugar and cream. Bulletproof Coffee Is non-toxic, pesticide-free, and herbicide free ( herbicide a substance that is toxic to plants and is used to destroy unwanted vegetation.) You are blending It with chain triglyceride ( chain triglycerides (MCTs) are partially man-made fats. The name refers to the way the carbon atoms are arranged in their chemical structure. MCTs are generally made by processing coconut and palm kernel oils in the laboratory. Usual dietary fats, by comparison, are long-chain triglycerides. People use MCTs as medicine.) Bulletproof Coffee Is best If consumed first thing In the morning and on an empty stomach or with a light breakfast.

The original Bulletproof coffee involves blending coconut oil a well-known superfood high In medium chain triglycerides. If you didn’t know the original bulletproof coffee calls for grass-fed butter. The healthy fats blended with the coffee help create satiety (the quality or state of being fed or gratified to or beyond capacity) ward off hunger, jump-start the metabolism, and can help the caffeine from coffee digest more slowly, which prevents insulin crashes often caused by caffeine Intake. 

I know It sounds too good to be true butter and all. If you are all for grass-fed butter In your coffee you do you and add that butter. I am not too keen adding butter of any kind to my coffee. I’m going to give you some tips on how to make Bulletproof Coffee Vegan and still beneficial just like the original.

Tips:

1) If you aren’t keen on using grass-fed butter or even vegan butter you can simply replace the butter with 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil or non-organic depending on what you have. Also when looking for coconut oil make sure It’s cold pressed. By making sure your coconut oil Is cold-pressed you are avoiding pesticides and heating agents.

2) Another choice you can use In replace of butter Is coconut butter. I don’t use coconut butter mainly because It Is expensive. But It Is a good option If you are looking for a buttery taste to your coffee that leaves your coffee frothy. 

3) If you opt not to use coconut butter or any butter at all you can always add some heavy cream or some non-dairy cream. The coconut oil you add will still make your coffee frothy but by adding some type of creamer your coffee will be extra frothy.

I know you came here for the recipe and I’m about to give you the recipe. I just want to say sorry for adding some facts and getting sidetracked. I thought you would appreciate some facts before the recipe. 

Bulletproof Coffee Vegan, Gluten Free,& Keto

The Ingredients: 8 oz. of brewed coffee. ( I make 16 oz. because I love coffee)

1 Tbsp of coconut oil (or any type of butter you are using)

4 packets of stevia ( Or any keto, vegan or gluten-free sweetener of choice)

OPTIONAL: 3 dashes of Pumpkin Pie Spice

OPTIONAL: Creamer of choice

 DIRECTIONS: Blended the coffee and all of your Ingredients In a blender. Blend until nice and frothy. Pour Into your coffee mug and sprinkle some extra pumpkin pie spice as a garnish.

Use the pictures as a reference to what It should look like In the blender and I will post a picture of the Ingredients I use every day for my coffee. At the end of the post, I will tell you a little how I feel when I drink bulletproof coffee.

It’s nice and Frothy. When you pour It Into your mug the liquid will pour out first and then the froth. Don’t worry your coffee Is still nice and frothy on top. If you want you can add extra pumpkin pie spice I do. Pumpkin Pie Spice Is a good way to get flavor without extra carbs or calories. But like always you can add double the Ingredients If It fits your macros.

Keto Mousse

Since coming off the reboot I haven’t gone back to my old way of eating. I’ve tried to stick with Keto eating. I had some coke zero yesterday and I was fine no bloat or anything. Yesterday I made a small gut-friendly salad and for dinner, I made pumpkin spice pancakes all keto friendly. Today I will be sharing with you a recipe that Is SUPER SIMPLE to make and delicious. The best part about this recipe Is that It takes only 2 Ingredients with the 3rd being optional.

I honestly made this today and It was gone today. Seriously most of It was gone before It even hit the fridge to firm up. I mentioned that this recipe Is SUPER SIMPLE and that Is because It Is. This recipe Is super versatile. You can change It according to your keto needs and your macros.

                                  Recipe

~Ingredients: 1 box of sugar-free vanilla pudding mix

2 cups of Cold Heavy Cream (Not whipping)

Pumpkin pie Spice (Optional)

~Directions: Add the cold Heavy Cream to a stand mixer or a mixing bowl and then add the Vanilla Pudding Mix and If you’re using the pumpkin pie spice. On medium speed In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer mix until the Heavy cream starts to resemble a mousse.

You can either enjoy It now or you can pop It In the fridge for 1-2 hours for It to firm up. When I made this today hardly any was left after this picture was taken.
